Maria Ximena's Story
Maria Ximena and her family have been facing very difficult times since the beginning of this year; Maria started off 2022 not feeling her best and going to several doctors without any clues as to what was happening.
Maria’s cancer was initially difficult to identify. About three months passed and the doctors she saw were not able to find the source of her health problems, so she decided to go to Colombia in search of other medical opinions. Finally, doctors found a lymphoma that compromises the palate and the respiratory system. This is a tumor that sits on her palate and is also pressing on the nasal pathways, making it impossible to breathe through the nose.
At this point Maria is not able to drink or eat anything via her mouth.
Her cancer treatment may be longer and more complex than initially thought.
This GOFUNDME has the intention of alleviating the family’s economic needs and medical bills to come in these very challenging times.
She has returned to Miami where she will be able to get treatment. However, there have been months full of expenses, without being able to work and without the possibility of working soon.
If this message is reaching you, it is because you know her, and you know that she is a very strong person with a good attitude. However right now she and her family are facing very difficult times.
Economic tranquility is something that will help during her treatment, not only for peace of mind, but to be ready to cover unforeseen expenses. Even though medical insurance is involved, we expect large out of pocket expenses as well, due to the complexity of the treatment. The fact that the food is being administered via tube feeding and that her palate will have to be reconstructed brings even greater challenges to the equation.
Maria Ximena needs to be totally focused on her physical and emotional health right now, and in order to do this, she need us more than ever.

Hola todos! esta es una actualizacion a este fondo de recaudo para Maria Ximena.
Ya sabemos que necesitara alimentacion por el estomago por varios meses y reconstruccion de paladar.
No podra trabajar por no sabemos cuanto tiempo.
En este momento sigue hospitalizada esperando estabilizacion de nutrientes para que le puedan hacer el procedimiento del tubo para alimentarla.
No puede ni podra comer nada por boca por no sabemos cuanto tiempo.
A pesar que tiene seguro , seran muchos los gastos que tendran que incurrir como familia; estimamos al menos $50 mil dolares en gastos medicos. Tan solo la reconstruccion del paladar y la alimentacion por el estomago representaran costos bastante altos.
Por este motivo, hemos elevado el monto del fondo a $100 mil dolares.
Este fondo seguira activo y ella estara accediendo a el directamente, a medida que entren los fondos.

Primer POST:
Maria Ximena y su familia están enfrentando momentos difíciles hace varios meses, por lo cual ella no ha podido trabajar.
El tratamiento puede ser más largo y complejo de lo que inicialmente se pensó, y serán varios meses donde trabajar no será posible. Este fondo se hace con el ánimo de ayudarles empezando este momento y para aliviar cargas economicas.
Maria Ximena ha tenido que enfrentar un cancer cuyo origen fue difícil de identificar. Pasaron varios meses sin saber que le estaba pasando, y decidió ir a Medellin para ver otras perspectivas medicas. Finalmente le identificaron un linfoma que compromete el paladar y el sistema respiratorio.
Ha vuelto a Miami donde podrá hacer su tratamiento; sin embargo han sido meses llenos de gastos , sin poder trabajar y sin la posibilidad próxima de trabajar.
Decidimos entre sus amigos hacer este GOFUNDME para apoyar a Maria Ximena y su familia mientras ella recupera su salud.
Si te esta llegando este mensaje es por que la conoces, y sabes que es una persona muy fuerte y de buena actitud. Pero no sobra el cariño y ayuda de sus seres queridos.
La tranquilidad económica es algo que le ayudará a hacer su tratamiento con mayor serenidad; ella ahora más que nunca necesita estar totalmente enfocada en su salud física y emocional.
