April 3, 2023 Update
We are now proceeding with treating Rocky's tumor as a nerve sheath tumor. He's currently on prednisone, which so far has been helping his mobility and pain an incredible amount. The oncologist thinks he could be a good candidate for radiation therapy and that it could give us another 6-9 mos with a good quality of life for him (though he will likely never regain the muscle in his left hip). Radiation runs about $12,000 and we'll have to go outside of NorCal to get an appointment anytime soon. A huge thank you to everyone for your love and support.

Over the past 6 weeks, Rocky has been losing strength in his back leg. Today we found out he has a mass in his spinal column that the doctor thinks is either a nerve sheath tumor or lymphoma. We spent several vet visits treating him for arthritis or an injury before being referred to a specialist. I'm hoping to get a firm diagnosis this week and then will know what the prognosis is and which treatments are available.
Between the appointment fees, diagnostics, and pain meds, the costs have already added up considerably. These expenses would be unwelcome in the best of times, but they're coming during a time in which I’m also having to pay for everything that goes along with taking the bar.
Anyone who knows me knows how important Rocky is to me. He's been the single most consistent presence in my life over the last 7 years. He certainly doesn't seem ready to give up, so I feel like I can't just yet either.
I am incredibly grateful for anything that people can donate toward his care. Healing vibes and shares are also much appreciated!
