Sunday, October 26th, our dog Freya fell and broke her back :( She was instantly paralyzed due to a herniated disk in her back. We learned she has IVDD (Intervertebral Disc Disease) which is common in small dogs like our little baby. After a surgery on her back (hemilaminectomy) she's still unable to walk, but expected to walk again over the next 2-8 weeks or so, with the road to recovery taking 6-9 months.

The total for the hospital care is just over $11,000 and we expect some additional costs in the coming weeks additionally. We were lucky enough to have pet insurance that we are extremely hopeful will pay up to $7500 of the expenses.

As many of you know, Will recently lost his job, so this added stress, financial and physical is taking a toll. We know that it is a difficult time for so many people, and if you can help chip in, awesome, if not, please spread the word.
