Care for Noah
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
My name is Desiree Cunningham, and on November 22, 2021, I gave birth to my beautiful son, Noah Maxwell Reid. My son was born with Epidermolysis Bullosa, a rare and painful genetic condition that produces fragile skin, blisters and tears easily with only minor friction. Noah was born without skin on his legs. Soon after birth, Noah was sent to the NICU at Lurie Children’s Hospital to begin his lifelong care journey. Since birth Noah has had daily dressing changes to heal and protect his legs. Noah not only blisters on his skin, but he also blisters in his mouth. Blisters in his mouth limit his ability to eat sometimes. Life has completely changed for my family. I had genetic testing before birth which missed this rare condition. I advocate for including this condition during the genetic testing so parents can learn more about EB and prepare themselves for the journey we are unexpectedly on with Noah.
I hope to be able to provide the best care for Noah and provide him with the most comfortable life possible! All donations will go to provide care for Noah and help with medical expenses and supplies. I have been denied for many services when it comes to Noah’s care. My coverage is deficient when it comes to his care. Even though I work, it has been a financial challenge for me to provide good care for my son, including materials and physical child care. His dressing change supplies alone can cost up to $1000+ a month. No donation is too small! We truly appreciate everyone’s love and support! #NoahsJourney
