****UPDATE****
Landon's tumor has wrapped around the artery running from his brain down into his neck. At 7:30am on 9/30, Landon will undergo surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. The surger is taking place in Tennessee and the family has headed down this past weekend. After the surgery there will be a number of weeks of proton radiation. The doctors know they will not be able to remove all of the tumor, but are hoping that the aggressive surgery coupled with the radiation will do the trick.

Jillian's son, Landon, has battled cancer and a brain tumor since he was 10 months old. He has endured 6 rounds of chemotherapy and over a dozen surgeries only to find out that he also had a spinal instability. Landon's tumor was a malignant ependymoma, a tumor so resistant to cancer-killing drugs that they sometimes grow during chemotherapy.
Landon was not predicted to survive through his 3rd year but has made it into his 10th. Every year since his diagnosis, he has had to go in for an MRI to check the status of the tumor. Because of where it is located, surgery has never been able to completely remove it.
Landon recently spent a day at CHKD for his yearly check up and the results were not what anyone was expecting. It appears the tumor has grown aggressively. It is wrapped around his spine but so far they don’t see that it has affected the spinal cord.
Landon's Oncology and Neorology team of doctors is working hard to figure out the next steps. This is so rare that the team is looking for all the options possible for him.
Jillian and Landon have a great support system but we want to help however we can as well. She will be out of work for a while to take this time with Landon so our goal is to help raise money for various expenses that may incur.
