Just over a year ago, Debbie collapsed at work at Farm and Fleet. By the end of the day, she had been diagnosed with an aortic dissection and had several inches of her aorta replaced in a surgery that took over 6 hours. Since that time, she has been in and out of the hospital many times with various complications, most of them related to recurring edema. She has amassed thousands of dollars of deductibles and co-pays. She is now diagnosed with stage 4 heart failure.
In the past year she has lost both her job and her car. Now we also just had our other car's transmission die and the repair is more than the car is worth. So we need to try to replace it, so Debbie can get to necessary doctors' appointments and the hospital when needed.
Debbie spent most of her life caring for children in various daycare positions. Glenn is convinced that a part of her heart issues now is because she gave a little piece of her heart to each and every one of those children. She had been looking forward to retirement to be able to do more things for people in some manner yet to be determined. Sadly, that no longer looks to be possible.
We would greatly appreciate any help you can give us, no matter how small. And we ask you to hug your children any time you can, and help children who are not your own any time the opportunity presents itself.
The picture is of Deb in happier times on our son's 15th birthday some 11 years ago in November.
Thank you for your support.
