Donate for a Life-Changing Wheelchair

Hi, I’m a caretaker for a gentleman, Brent Casey, that has a neurodegenerative disease and has been progressively losing his ability to walk. You can imagine that slowly losing his physical ability to walk is causing him to feel very defeated emotionally and mentally.

I’ve had experiences with Medicare trying to get a different person a wheelchair, and Medicare, after an almost year-long, crazy-making process, approved a wheelchair that was old clunky technology that is fine if you have a large space with big doorways, but it is way too heavy to take in any vehicle, etc. Well, my friend lives in a small one-bedroom apartment and I believe he needs one of these new lightweight, smaller wheelchairs that turn on a dime that he could maneuver easily in his small apartment. The new lightweight wheelchairs are 30 lbs! So it would be easy to fold up and throw in any car for a caregiver to get him to his many doctor appointments. I had another lady that could afford to purchase one of these, and it was life-changing for her! They are priced anywhere from $700 to about $1000 for the models I have been looking at getting for him. He has no family that he can ask for financial help, and I’m praying I can help him out! Please help me help him! I really believe this will be life-changing for him also! I am asking for $1200 to ensure we have enough to get a good chair for Brent. If there happens to be any leftover funds, they will be spent on accessories for the wheelchair, such as a carry bag for the back or whatever. Thank you!
