PLEASE HELP US TO HELP KEVIN! - SPINAL CORD INJURY FUND

Our names are Marilyn & Leonard Weissbach and this is our tragic story of Jeffrey & Kevin. Kevin was in a facility in Israel after he was traumatized by the suicide of his brother, Jeffrey, who suffered from rapid cycling Bipolar Mood Disorder. After his breakdown at our home, we were informed that there was a facility in Israel that would help him through his "depression and psychosis". Little did we know that the Doctors were abusing all 10 of their patients, all young, with similar mental issues. As a result Kevin fell 3 stories by trying to get some relief from that environment.

We are requesting this money would help us tremendously, as it would allow Kevin to receive the long-term, round-the-clock care he needs. Roger, Kevin’s caregiver, is an incredibly caring and compassionate man who daily helps Kevin navigate the hard reality of being a quadriplegic. As the Insurance only pays for limited Rehab and care giving expenses, we have been depleted of the funds we had because of the expense of flying him back to LA with a MD and 2 nurses at $35,000, expenses in Israel $65,000 with hospital costs, making our home handicap compliant $120,000 and many more expenses which I will supply if needed. At this moment I am unable to meet all the Financial expenses detailed about, especially 12/7 hours of care giving at $18ph, coupled with many more expenses I will share with anyone.

Marilyn is a NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) volunteer and has received awards from the LAPD, S.W.A.T. team and well-known graduating therapists, first-responders, care givers, graduating therapists and psychiatrists. She helps them to understand what mental illness is, and how to deal with the people who suffer from it. She also showed the City Council that they cannot house mentally ill persons along with the general public at Twin Towers. IRONIC, that she has helped so many parents deal with accepting their children's mental illness diagnosis, she could not help her own. Very sad, but true. Her AWARDS speak for themselves.

We are urgently trying to raise the necessary funds so we can pay for Kevin’s caregivers that are needed 24/7. We are in a position where we could lose our home. If there are any compassionate and PHILANTHROPIC persons who can help us, we would be so grateful. We would be open to anyone wanting to contact us or visiting Kevin, it would be acceptable.

As you know, GOFUNDME is a Non-Profit organization that will supply a "Donation Receipt" for anyone needing it for Tax purposes. Should anyone wanting to Donate Assets that we could use.
