Hi, my name is Corey. And to be honest with you, I’m not used to receiving, never mind asking for help. But the reality that I’m facing is that I need the help of my community to get through one of the toughest challenges I’ve ever faced.

What’s going on? I’m having surgery to repair my right knee lateral collateral ligament(LCL) repair, bicep femoris repair, possible lateral patellofemoral ligament repair, and possible posterolateral corner reconstruction; not to mention a possible second surgery to repair my partially torn ACL. Doc says it’s one of the gnarlier ones he’s seen and a high risk surgery. I’d be lying if I said I’m not afraid. But I am undeterred to recover from this injury mentally and physically stronger than I’ve ever been before.

While I have the focus and energetic wherewithal to undertake this journey, I don’t have the financial resources to cover the shortfall beyond my insurance coverage — namely 18,000.

Ironically, I earn my living using my body to help others achieve their physical and mental potential to obtain true autonomy over their lives. Yet, here I am — literally cut off at and on my knee at the moment — asking for your help.
