Since July 2023, Charlie has been battling a difficult and confusing health journey.

What began as unexplained illness led to a diagnosis of gallstones. Hoping for relief, he underwent gallbladder removal surgery in November 2023.

But just three days later, his condition worsened drastically. After being transferred between multiple hospitals, doctors finally discovered the real cause: cryptogenic liver cirrhosis. Without a transplant, Charlie would not survive.

The months that followed were filled with uncertainty and fear—not just for Charlie, but for his wife, Brittany, and their two young children, Angelo and Gianna. Although there were moments when his liver function seemed to improve, the damage to his surrounding organs made things more complicated. Finally, in August 2025, Charlie was added to the liver transplant list.

Then, on October 4th, 2025—his son Angelo’s birthday—Charlie received the call: a liver was available.

Charlie and Brittany immediately traveled to the Cleveland Clinic, where he underwent a life-saving liver transplant. While the surgery was a success, the road to recovery is long—and the financial burden will be overwhelming.

The next 6-12 months will consist of repeated hospital stays far from home, travel expenses, medical bills, and the cost of ongoing post-surgery care. Through it all, Charlie and Brittany have done everything they can to stay strong for Angelo and Gianna, who have shown incredible resilience during this difficult time.
