My name is Lee (he/him) and I am a 30-year-old stay-at-home dad from North little rock, Arkansas.

Some of you may know that I have been researching Top Surgery for quite a while now, trying to figure out a way to make it happen. I have felt worried about asking other for money, so I have put this off for so long. However, today (2/11/22) I was encouraged by many friends to go through with making my go fund me.
My transition journey thus far has been extremely fulfilling. I have been on testosterone close to a year now and the gender affirming changes have made so happy. Words cannot express how happy I am to finally start to see the outside parts of me reflect the inside parts of me.
I came out three years ago but struggled with feeling valid in my identity, so kept it quiet among close friends. I finally came out publicly two years ago and have been supported by my husband, children, and friends.
For the past three years I have been wearing a binder (used to bind and flatten the chest to minimize its outward appearance). While this has been an excellent way to improve my self confidence, it is only a temporary solution. I am large chested and binding does not conceal as much as I hoped it would. Binding can also be very dangerous for long periods of time. Most days I choose not to wear one for health reasons, but my mental health is not good those days and then there are the other days where I am able to bind and the thought of taking my binder off and looking in the mirror is just too much to handle. Some days, body dysmorphia can be very overwhelming, so much so that I can't get out of bed or I stay shut in the bathroom with the urge to cry and scream. The thought of never having to wear a binder again absolutely blows my mind and would completely change my life.
Top Surgery is expensive and the wait times are long, but the procedure itself is absolutely life changing.
The funds from this campaign will be going towards consultation and the surgery itself as well as any financial help we need for childcare/ or my husband taking off while I am in recovery. I homeschool our children and we are a one income family.
I would be unbelievably grateful for any donations, no matter how small, every single contribution is a huge help. If a monetary donation isn't possible, please share my page with everyone you know. I would be immensely grateful for anything you can offer.
Thanks for reading, I'll keep this page updated along the way!
