On the evening of August 12, I received a text from Melissa which read, "It's cancer."

Yes, you read that correctly, the most beautiful person we all know - inside and out - was given the ugliest diagnosis.

Melissa was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. In simpler terms, breast cancer.

Under the care of her superhero team of doctors, a lengthy treatment plan is in place to cure Melissa of this disease.

Her road to recovery is underway; however, navigating this road will not be easy for Melissa physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.

I decided to start this GoFundMe to help ease Melissa's financial strains during this difficult time.
