Blessings For Brett

Brett was born more than 6 weeks early. Dr's. thought he as was doing ok for his weight and how premature he's was. On about day three things changed. They thought he had an obstruction. He was taken to Children's Hospital in Bham for surgery. After surgery Brett has 10 cm of small intestine and lost half of his large intestine which is also called the colon in utero. So he lost 50% of his large and 90% of his small. This is why his condition is so serious. The hopes are that his intestines that are left will adapt to taking care of him nutritionally. It is possible but they are going to really have to grow and increase surface area. Thanks to everyone that has texted, called, and prayed for us!!
