The Justin Saylor Memorial Fund
Donation protected
On behalf of Justin’s wife, Maxine, we are heartbroken to share the tragic news that Justin has passed away. He was unexpectedly taken to the emergency room on July 20th and was immediately admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, where his life waned for 10 long days. Maxine never left the hospital. It is with devastating sorrow that Maxine and his only brother, Ian, said goodbye to Justin on July 30th, 2018.Justin Saylor was a beautiful and creative soul. He loved and expressed himself through many forms of art including drawing, painting, and writing creatively. His biggest passion was his music, and he was such a talented singer/songwriter and had a natural gift for playing the guitar. Justin challenged and inspired many people to broaden their knowledge and love of many forms of music and had an enormous impact on those he knew. Throughout his life, he had many friends who were artists and musicians. Justin also had a passion and deep love for all animals and cared for countless animals in need, a trait likely passed down from his grandfather who was a veterinarian.Maxine and Justin met in college and were best friends and together for 13 years. She fell in love with him instantly and was drawn to his beautiful smile and his magnetic laughter. He took care of and doted on Maxine for many years and together they had many adventures. He loved to cook for her and create interesting surprises for her to try. Cooking was a new passion of his, and he excelled at it!During the last few years of his life, Justin battled end stage liver disease in addition to other chronic health issues which left him in constant debilitating pain. Maxine cared for him and never left his side throughout thick and thin. Together they struggled to find a solution to his health issues and searched for answers. She watched in dread as her husband slowly lost his battle with these illnesses. During this time Maxine finished her degree at University of Oregon and worked hard to be the sole source of income for their family. Justin was so proud of her! We are creating this GoFundMe account in hopes that we can help Maxine. This memorial fund is set up by Maxine’s family and all donations will go directly to Maxine to help with Justin’s memorial, final expenses, and adjusting to life without Justin.
