Hello, my name is Julie McQueeney, and I am a long-time friend of Sandra and her family. On January 10th, Sandra’s life was turned upside down when a devastating fire swept through the hills above Sylmar, CA, ravaging the area, reducing her home and everything she had worked so hard for to ashes. The place where she raised her family, created beautiful memories, and brought joy to so many was destroyed in an instant.

 Sandra is one of the kindest, most generous souls I’ve ever known. She has spent her life giving to others in countless ways. Over the years, Sandra has volunteered at food banks, organized community events to support those in need, and provided mentorship and guidance to young women navigating challenging times. She’s the type of person who would drop everything to help a friend, neighbor, or even a stranger. Her kindness has always been a light in our community, and now, she needs that light to be reflected back to her.

We want to support her during this incredibly difficult time especially when she, and many fire victims like her, had their insurance cancelled on them just a few months ago. Thankfully, they evacuated early to a hotel and are currently safe from the ongoing blaze. However, they still face the daunting task of securing both short-term and permanent housing, as well as replacing essential belongings.

All donated funds will go directly toward covering items and living expenses that are not covered by insurance or FEMA assistance. This includes: • Essential needs such as clothing, toiletries, and medications • Medical supplies • Temporary housing costs • Any potential gaps on the road to re-establishing permanent housing.

 Sandra has always been there for others, whether it was comforting those in crisis, lending her time to causes that mattered, or opening her home to those in need. Now, it’s our turn to rally around her as she begins the difficult journey of rebuilding her life from scratch.
