There is a wonderful little girl, that we have come to know and love by the name of "Princess Junissa" She was born with central nuclear myopathy and an enlarged heart. We came to know of this beautiful little girl through her mother Rubi. To Rubi, Junissa is her best friend.
At this time, it is breaking our hearts to see Rubi and Juni going through a difficult time. Juni had been having some respiratory issues for about a month or so. As any good mother would do, Rubi would take Juni to her pediatrician for medications, and slowly she showed some signs of improvement. However, she never fully recuperated. It was always heart wrenching to hear how slowly Juni was getting worse, not being able to move, she had much difficulty breathing and she wasn't eating.
Upon Juni's second visit to the ER in a week, she was admitted to the pediatric floor. Juni's family came to visit in hopes to boost her spirits, but not much was able to change her dwindling health. Within a couple of days of her admission to Knapp Medical Center, Juni was intubated and transferred to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston, Texas. It was then, that we realized the severity of Juni's situation, she was going to need a heart transplant if she did not get any better.
She has yet to recover and unfortunatetly, the heart transplant is out of the question now. Rubi has informed us that the physicians have given her two options for Juni:
1. She can be given comfort measures and wait to see which direction she goes in
or
2. She can have a device implanted in her heart that comes with so many different health risks that outweigh the benefits. This implant would eventually cause additional complications and suffering for Juni.
Due to her underlying conditions, Juni is not eligible for a heart transplant, that could have saved her life.
Rubi has not left her daughter's side and since she is a single mother of 4 children, this has left her unable to work, so other situations are arising. From Rubi's extended work family, we are asking for any donations to help pay for any uncovered medical expenses and/or other necessities that may arise from these events. Your donation would be greatly and sincerely appreciated by Juni, Rubi and her three sons. Thank you.
