Kati Hornick-Giraldo has recently been diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. In December, she found a swollen lymph node near her neck. After several medical appointments and testing, the doctors gave her a diagnosis of cancer. This diagnosis has been devastating and shocking to Kati and her wonderful family.

Kati’s daughter Maybin also fought cancer when she was three years old. Maybin fiercely battled Leukemia from 2015 to 2018. Kati and Maybin share a great strength, and it’s now Kati’s turn to fight cancer.

This week, Kati had surgery to have a port placed where she will receive some of her IV chemotherapy. She is also recovering from a spinal tap and bone marrow biopsy. Kati will be beginning chemotherapy ASAP. Treatment for lymphoma is approximately 5 months; however, we know how unexpected cancer battles can be.
