SKATE ACROSS AMERICA

Hello!

My name is Demarcus James. I am a professional skateboarder from San Francisco. On June 8th, 2025, I will be skateboarding from Oakland, California to New York City to spread awareness about mental health.

Six months ago, I was hospitalized after trying to commit suicide. Once admitted, I went through about three months of ECT (Electroconvulsive Therapy), and in short it helped me SO much. I was able to get back to my life and move forward, with even more focus and determination than ever! I'm so grateful I actually got myself help in the end and I want others to know that there is always a way out of depression.

The trip will be about 3000 miles through the Sierras, Utah, Wyoming, and so on. I will be posting daily on my Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. My sponsors have blessed me with the proper skate equipment for the trip and a bit of financial support to begin, but I will need a lot more to help for food, hotels and for any roadside emergencies along the way.
