I am holding off on the procedure for now and I won’t be having it in FL if I have it at all. All contributions are still welcome and will be used for airfare and/or hotels as potentially other options in the future, but the below is out for now.

I am updating my fundraiser goals. As you know I was diagnosed with Stage IV pancreatic cancer in April of this year. It is one of, if not the most lethal diagnosis that one can receive. I am currently undergoing chemotherapy and that will continue. However I have found a surgeon and a procedure that will give me a better shot at survival. The procedure is called Nanoknife and involves putting electrodes around the primary tumor to essentially “electrocute” it while preserving the good tissue and arteries around it. The doctor is in Florida and is the only one willing to take on an advanced case like mine. I will continue on chemo afterwords, but hopefully at a lower dose. He would also use immunotherapy to target the dead tumor tissue. He will be working with my local oncologist. This procedure is “usually” reimbursed by insurance in the long term …over say 6 months but it’s not a guarantee. It will cost about $ 10-15K up front. That’s about where my fundraiser always was, so I won’t be changing the monetary amount. Many of you have already given all you can, and that love in and of itself means the world. No more is asked. However, if you know of someone able to donate feel free to pass along the information. After much research across the board, this looks like my best shot at beating this thing long term. If you have any questions feel free to ask. As you know I feel weird about asking for anything ….or even making a “Gofundme” in general. It just doesn’t feel like me, but, for official purposes I felt the need to update.
