Those of you who follow me on social media have seen that I am starting a new job and those of you who know me, know that it’s been a long time coming. Right before Christmas there were two big things we found out. We were having another little one and I was losing my driving job. Not the most ideal situation.
The company I was working for took advantage of a situation where my boss told me to do something. I did what he asked and it ended up breaking my truck. They later said it was my fault because I should have made my own decision. However, they did tell me that this would not be reflected on my record moving forward as I search for other jobs, so I trusted their word.
In the meantime, I took a night job in the warehouse so as to keep providing for my family. It was a pretty large cut in pay, but it was still doable. Though it was doable, it just wasn’t conducive to what our family needed. I took a daylight job in the warehouse so that I could help my wife and son while she was sick during this pregnancy. That was an even larger cut in pay and we quickly realized that this job was not going to keep our family afloat.
My wife and I started applying for jobs daily and we were finally seeing some results when I had a job lined up with a major company. We thought we were out of the woods, but then I got a call from that company who said that they spoke to my previous employer who had told them about the incident that “wouldn’t be reflected on my record.” It was because of this that I didn’t get the job. We were shocked honestly, discouraged even.
However, by the grace of God, I was able to find a job and I am so grateful for it. The only thing is that I will not receive insurance until 90 days after working there — which wouldn’t be a problem if my wife wasn’t pregnant or high risk, needing more ultrasounds and medication than anticipated. Since my job situation changed so much since December 2023, we’ve had to dip into savings, causing us to be in the situation we are now.
We are looking into Cobra which will continue my current insurance for the next 90 days, however, we are humbly asking for help since our options are limited, but we need insurance so that my wife and unborn daughter can get the medical care they need. I am just requesting $6000 which should be enough to get us through the next 90 days. Anything more that we receive will help us to get back to where we were, pay medical bills, and help with payments that I had to put on hold due to the past 4 months.
If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask us! Thank you for your consideration and your kindness. We are grateful to you for your help and understanding.
