I've decided it's time to start this site to keep everyone updated on Brian's condition. We feel so loved by all the outpourings of support, thoughts, and prayers.  For all of you who know Brian well he hates computers/social media/obsessive smart phone use, and also he hates to be the center of attention- unless of coarse your praising him for an amazing meal he's cooked for you, as he takes great pride in his cooking and will glow if you compliment him on that:) So those were the reasons I hesitated to start this journal. Nonetheless we greatly appreciate every single text, call, gesture, etc- every outreach has not gone unnoticed even if we haven't been able to return the call/text or acknowledge your offerings.   I will be reaching out to you guys for help on thing as they come up, so stay tuned! His story starts out on Sunday July  29, 2018 when he was involved in a motorcycle accident. He was airlifted to HCMC where he remains currently on the surgical ICU unit. He is sedated and intubated, the main concern is the bleeding in his brain- the medical professionals tell us all we can do right now is be patient and wait as his prognosis won't be known for several days as his head heals- they tell us to "expect a marathon of ups and downs" for the next few days to weeks as we wait for the swelling in his brain and bleeding to subside. The positives right now are that he is able to open his eyes & move all limbs- though the left side is more purposeful and stronger. He hasn't needed surgery to relieve the pressure in his brain at this point, no broken bones and no internal bleeding. He does have pneumonia and a feeding tube and relays on a machine to do his breathing.  He is unable to talk and only occasional follows commands when sedation medicine is turned down.  Though I wish that I could let everyone know how long we will be here and what recovery looks like, only time will tell.  Brian is young, strong,  a fighter, and is too stubborn to be in the hospital longer than he needs to be.  I will use this site to keep everyone updated. We know Brian was aware of his boys visiting with him today.  Tom, Brandon, and Beans all at separate times came in to talk to Brian and he opened his eyes to their voices.  And he even swatted Beans away after he was trying to hold his hands one too many times:) I will do my best to make daily updates but know no news is good news.
