Our third grade teacher, Carrie Gunderson, was diagnosed with a benign tumor, meningioma, in January 2018. The tumor was located in the membrane surrounding her brain, behind her sinus area. The tumor was surgically removed. In June of 2020, it was discovered that the tumor had returned. The tumor is extremely close to her optic nerve. After developing a plan with her Mayo doctors in Rochester, her best option is to do radiation.  She will undergo 6 weeks of daily radiation this summer in Rochester, along with daily MRIs to pinpoint the radiation to the exact location.  Carrie’s husband, Greg, is our Technology Director, and they have 3 beautiful daughters. Carrie feels blessed to have her amazing family and her strong faith as she continues on this journey. Please pray for Carrie and her family, as well as for her medical team.
