This go-fund me is for my dear friend, Amber.

Amber is a 42 year old single mother with her two youngest children residing with her. She works for United Healthcare as a Customer Service Representative and is fortunate that she is able to work remote. When not working, Amber enjoys baking, acrylic paint pouring, arts and crafts, true crime, being outdoors and fishing. She and her kids enjoy watching movies, skating, playing games and going for walks. Amber has overcome many obstacles in her adult life, to include recovery from years long drug addiction. Amber has been clean and sober for over three years now. I am proud to call her my friend.

As of July 2025, Amber is diagnosed Stage 3 Triple Positive Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Although this is of the most invasive and fast growing cancers of this sort, it typically responds well to treatment. Amber’s treatment plan is aggressive but necessary. The Oncologist is confident that once Amber completes her treatment plan, she will be cancer free.

The treatment plan consists of the following: 1 session of chemotherapy every three weeks for 6 rounds, this is done intravenously through the chemo port Amber has had placed in her chest. At the same time as the chemo, Amber will also be given a targeted therapy which is done by a slow released injection. This will be given every three weeks for a year. After the 6 rounds of chemo, there will be a 4 week recovery period and then Amber will under go breast surgery. After recovery, about 4 weeks, Amber will start radiation therapy which will be for 6 weeks, daily, Monday through Friday. Amber will also need to begin medication that will medically induce menopause. This is so that her cancer has nothing to feed of off since it relies on her hormones to grow. She will take these medications for 5 years.

And, that is the plan. Amber started this on September 8th with her first round of Chemo at the Hollis Center in Lakeland. As strong as Amber is, the effects have been worse than expected. Extreme exhaustion, bone pain and nausea have been what she is fighting. She is struggling with working through the chemo as she thought she would be able to do. She continues to work as she can but has had many days where she just cannot. Many more days are expected with each treatment.

One of the first things Amber said to me after telling me of her diagnosis, is how am I going to pay my bills. It broke my heart and still does because there is not an easy answer for that. Amber needs to focus on recovery and healing and not stress about bills and food for her kids. I know that there are plenty of people who support situations like Amber's. Amber also has many friends, family members and co-workers who care for her tremendously and want to support her however we can within our reach. This go-fund me is meant to take the financial burden off of Amber so that she has one less stress in this very long journey ahead of her.

The budget is simple and straight forward:

  • 5,040 in lost income during chemotherapy. this provides Amber 1 week of missed income per chemo treatment.
  • 3,400 for January 2026 health insurance deductible. Amber will have to pay for her medical services up front until she reaches her 3,400 deductible, at which point her insurance will begin to pay 80 percent of her medical bills.
  • 1,344 of lost income during her recovery time from breast surgery. Amber's short term disability plan will pay her 60 percent of her wages for the estimated 4 weeks she will need for recovery. 1,344 is the missing 40 percent.

While some of these funds are not needed until January, the ongoing stress of missing work and income is current. Amber needs help. Please, let's help her continue this journey as stress free as possible and allow Amber to focus on her self and recovery.
