Help My Sister Rebuild After Losing Everything in an Apartment Fire

Hi everyone,

I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my sister after she experienced a devastating apartment fire that completely destroyed her home and everything inside.

The fire happened at University Riverside Gardens. Her unit was 228, located on the second floor on the right corner of the building by the trees. Because the fire started in the attic, the upstairs units suffered the worst of both the fire and water damage. She watched the flaming roof collapse over her home. Firefighters told us that nothing was salvageable, and the building is so unstable that she has not even been allowed to go inside to see what remains.

In an instant, she lost all of her belongings—her clothes, furniture, personal items, important documents, school materials, and the place she called home. While we are incredibly grateful that she is safe, the emotional and financial impact has been overwhelming.

My sister is a full-time college student and a proud first-generation student who has worked incredibly hard to build a future for herself through education. She puts so much of herself into everything she does, and despite facing challenges, she continues to show up with strength, determination, and heart. Now she’s facing the unimaginable task of having to rebuild her life from nothing while continuing to focus on school.

Right now, she urgently needs support with immediate essentials like clothing, toiletries, food, replacing school supplies, and other daily necessities. She is also trying to find stable long-term housing after losing her apartment, and navigating that process while balancing school has been incredibly overwhelming.

Anyone who knows my sister knows how special she is. She is an amazing student, a loving daughter, a caring sister, and the kind of friend who is always there for others without hesitation. She has always shown up for the people she loves with kindness, generosity, and strength. Watching her go through something so heartbreaking has been incredibly difficult, and more than anything I want to help her feel supported as she begins to rebuild.

I’m asking for help to support her during this painful and uncertain time. Any amount—no matter how small—would mean so much and would go directly toward helping her secure long-term housing, replace necessities, and regain stability after this loss.
