Amy's Childcare in Nepal

I was raised in a large, loving, Midwestern farm home. I was taught to give of myself and help my neighbors without expectations or agendas. No matter the distance, my neighbor is Nepal.
It's sometimes difficult to express why a place and it's people draw you to it. I have been drawn to Nepal for a number of years. After the recent devastating earthquakes, I knew in my heart it was time to go.
I have funded all of my own travel expenses through International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ) which provides affordable volunteer abroad programs in 30 different countries around the world. Now I want to be able to provide my future assigned orphange with any supplies or financial donations they may need. Once I arrive in Nepal, I will be working with the Kathmandu-based partner organization, Hope and Home. I will learn what is most needed for the childcare volunteer work through Hope and Home.
As a mother of three sons, I believe children in every corner of the world are deserving of the same love, care and basic rights. It is my hope to give the children my care, attention and a great deal of love.
I’m collecting funds solely for a Nepal orphanage through Hope and Home (not for travel expenses or anything related to any expenses I will incur) and would ask you to contribute whatever you’d like. 100% of donations will be used to purchase whatever needs the orphanage may have, from crayons to vitamins, to toys. I'll learn more about specific needs as the trip draws more near.
I’ll share a travel journal and photos with all of you during my visit.
