For those of you who know Kevin and Angie, then you know their dedication to one another, their girls and the medical field. Kevin chose to play a bigger role at home with his family a few years ago and retire from being a paramedic. Angie, a Registered Nurse, remained at DRMC and life has gone on as usual until a few weeks ago.
Kevin became acutely ill and as time passed, he went into liver and kidney failure. They both arrived at Oschner's early Friday around 2am by helicopter. They are receiving great care by the team there. He has seen at least 8 different doctors from 3 different specialties. He has been scheduled for multiple tests and a procedure as of Friday.
The doctors have confirmed that Kevin will need a liver-kidney transplant for any longevity of life. At this time, they are unsure if he will be a transplant candidate in the future. Angie is in New Orleans with Kevin. Their girls, Marlee, 8 and Tullis, 7 are with Angie's parents.
This precious family needs and deserves our support and our prayers. Their worlds have been turned upside down. Kevin is a very dedicated father and husband. Angie, a devoted mom, wife and professional gives her all at everything she does.....she worked until the day they flew to New Orleans. Their girls are two of the most fun loving, sassy mini me's I've ever seen. :)
Kevin and Angie have devoted the better parts of their lives to helping others. It is only fitting that we give back and help them during their time of need.
Please pray for the Parkinson family during their extreme time of need. Anything you can pledge will be greatly appreciated!!!!!!
We will keep you updated on his condition. Your DRMC family is behind you all 100% and we love you both.
Thanks in advance for your support!
