Help Our Hero - Jan van der Baan

So this comes out of left field. My strong, incredible husband Jan van der Baan got a massive headache that knocked him off his feet last Wednesday. This debilitating pain did not go away and ended us up in the emergency room Thursday evening. To make a long story short - 84 hours later the headache is still present and the doctors believe it to be viral meningitis, since it’s the only thing they can point the symptom towards. Jan has not gotten any better since they admitted him. And now the docs are looking to discharge him with pain meds. There is no medication for viral meningitis, is that’s what this is, only time and rest. This is torturous for Jan, as everything he was working on has come to a standstill; building our new house, helping care for our daughter Maris, running our Airbnb and helping everyone else who normally needs him. Being in pain and laid up like this is only adding to his stress. As you all know, we are massive cheerleaders of Hippocrates Institute, a treatment center here in Palm Beach County specializing in holistic healing for many various diseases and illnesses. It has been a life saver for many of our dear friends and now, in Jan’s moment of need, we would like to send him here as well so that he can make a speedy recovery. Our insurance will not cover it, so we are coming to our friends and family for help and support. I do this with confidence knowing how much Jan means to all of you and how much you would love to help and support him now when he needs it. For those of you who know him best, you are aware that he is terrible at asking for help. Good thing he has a wife with a big mouth!So if Jan has given you advice, made you think twice, found you a deal , cooked you a meal, fixed your house or your car, changed your baby’s diaper (you know who you are ), made you laugh, of his drink gave you half, or even taught you how to grill, I know help him, you will. Thanks to all, any amount will help us get him to Hippocrates ASAP. Please feel free to also send him a get well text, he is laid up, bored and in pain. The love will do him good.
