Help us fight for justice for the wrong doing that ruined my husband's life! On January 5th, 2026, my world stopped. My husband Ron — my partner, my best friend, the person who has stood beside me through every hardship — suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. One moment he was here, talking to me, and the next he was fighting for his life. The doctors have told me that his chances of a meaningful recovery are very small. They say he will need 24‑hour skilled nursing care for the rest of his life.

Hearing those words felt like the ground disappeared beneath me.

What makes this even harder is knowing that this might have been prevented. Four years ago, Ron's doctor had him go for an echocardiogram due to his family having a history of heart disease. He had no symptoms that would indicate that there was any kind of problem with his heart. However the result of the echo cardiogram showed very serious concerns, but no one said anything about it to him or the family. He was never referred to a cardiologist. Sent for further testing. Nothing. No one followed up. No one warned us. We were never given the chance to protect him before it was too late.

Since his cardiac arrest, everything has spiraled into a crisis I never imagined I'd have to face alone. Ron is hospitalized over an hour away at one of the only facilities in Northern California capable of handling his condition. The constant travel has drained every dollar I had. I live on SSI, and the financial strain has become unbearable. Even basic necessities are now out of reach.

However because California law limits the amount someone can be awarded in a medical malpractice suit to a maximum amount of $350,000 no attorney wants to help fight for him. Not unless I can pay at least $2,000 UP FRONT —which is impossible for me to do alone. In order to give him the comfort, dignity, and the care he needs —

As if the emotional and financial burden weren’t enough, his hospital stay has been devastating in its own way. The care Ron is receiving is far from what anyone deserves. It feels like it has been loss after loss, with no space to breathe.

I am doing everything in my power to fight for him. And hold the doctor accountable for his negligence. Someday I hope to be able to bring my husband home. He deserves to be surrounded by love, not fluorescent lights and hospital alarms. I want him to feel safe. I want him to know he’s not alone.

But I cannot do this by myself.

We are hoping to raise enough money to be able to obtain counsel to file a medical malpractice suit against his doctor. The doctor that failed to tell him that he had a bad heart. Because of his negligence his life is ruined. Our world has collapsed. On top of everything else having to face the many challenges ahead thanks to what he's failed to do as his physician is hard to wrap my head around challenges such as being able to - Relocate to a handicap‑accessible home

- Replace our vehicle with one that can safely transport Ron

- Cover the cost of the 24‑hour skilled nursing care that he now requires.

- Afford basic living expenses during this overwhelming crisis

Every donation — no matter the amount — brings us closer to giving Ron the justice he deserves. He deserves to be treated with dignity, be safe, and feel love. He deserves to be compensated for this injustice. If you cannot donate, that's OK too. If you can offer any information of how we might find an attorney that cares enough about his story and the tragedy that has now become our life it would be greatly appreciated. Sharing our story means more than you know.

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping us fight through the darkest moment of our lives.
