Support Joy's Fight Against Cancer

My name is Beth Heier and I'm starting this campaign on behalf of my friend and co-worker of many years, Joy Wernicke. Joy has recently been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She is currently on medical leave from work while she undergoes treatment.

I've worked with and known Joy for many years. She is a caring person, a great friend, and she has been a terrific and irreplaceable worker. Joy has been employed at Cumberland Farms for decades. She has always been more than a cashier at work. She knows all of her customers by name and has greeted them all with a smile and her cheerful demeanor for 25+ years. Things are not the same without her at work and she has been sorely missed. Joy has always gone above and beyond to help her friends in any way that she can.

Joy has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments and traveling back and forth to Boston. Unfortunately, being sick and unable to work does not stop bills from coming in. Joy has unforeseen medical expenses on top of her regular expenses and she still needs cash to purchase food and daily living items. As someone who has given so much to others, if anyone has the means to help our friend Joy, it would be greatly appreciated. We really want to help support her in any way that we can as she has always supported us.
