On June 22, 2021 at 10:49 pm Ethan was riding his motorcycle with a friend heading to the city, as they approached the intersection a car started to make a turn and then stopped in the intersection directly in front of Ethan failing to yield and causing Ethan to crash into the car. As a result of this accident Ethan sustained extensive injuries and was taken to the nearest trauma center. On Wednesday he underwent a 10 hour surgery to repair a broken femur, a compound fracture to his right radius and ulna and had debridement of a large wound to his left forearm. He will have another surgery in a few days to debride the area again and potentially cover the wound with a skin graft. The doctors also believe he has an injury to his right shoulder that has caused him to lose the feeling and use of his right arm at this time. Because of that injury he is experiencing excruciating nerve pain in that arm. Once the more urgent injuries have all been addressed they will start on the path to figure out what is going on there. He has a very long road ahead of him and we are so blessed that he is still here with us. The doctors told him that his helmet definitely saved his life. His guardian angel is definitely looking over him. All funds acquired from this fund raiser will go straight to the Butler family to help pay for medical expenses. Any and all donations made are greatly appreciated.
