Support Cheryl's Journey to Recovery
Donation protected
Cheryl had surgery back in February to remove a large, benign tumor. She developed an infection following the tumor removal, requiring another brain surgery to clear out the infection. Because of this infection, Cheryl then had to spend many months in rehab to get antibiotics and work with different therapies. After being discharged from rehab, Cheryl also had several weeks of radiation. Everything seemed to be headed in the right direction, but then she began to have seizures. This required two more hospital admissions and now finally a third surgery to remove a large abscess that had developed where her tumor was removed. Cheryl has a long road ahead of her. She will require another rehab stay for more antibiotics and therapies (speech, physical, and occupational). Another reconstructive surgery is also something she will need in the future, as part of her skull was removed permanently during this third surgery.
All in all, this has been a very long journey for Cheryl, and Rod, who has been by her every step of the way. As you can imagine, four brain surgeries is quite the expense. Anything you can donate will help ease the financial burden both now and to come from all the medical care for Cheryl.
