On Tuesday September 8th, I left Iowa City for Buffalo, NY upon finding out that my father was ill and had suffered a stroke. Within days of my arrival we got news that he has stage four pancreatic cancer that has also metastasized in his liver. After a ten day stay in the hospital he was released home to his family, myself included, under our care as well as a visiting nurse's association. Shortly, we will be transitioning to hospice. My reason for creating this fund is to allow me to stay here with both my father and my family during this difficult time. The money raised will help me to maintain my life back home in Iowa while allowing me time to stay in NY where I feel I am most needed. It will also be used to cover travel expenses to and from NY to IA as needed. My father is a well loved and wonderful man and I am honored to be able to be by his side at this time. Thank you to all of my family and friends- you've been invaluable throughout this entire journey.
