help support my son

Hi,

My name is David and I’m writing on behalf of my son, Devin. I am extremely proud of my son as he is an exceptional young man and has overcome many challenges. When he was 13 years old he was in an automobile accident, his injuries were severe. He sustained breaks all on his face and head. Devin also suffered from severe brain swelling. The doctors put him in an induced coma due to the severity of his injuries. After Devin awoke, we found that Devin had a pretty severe traumatic brain injury, which has had a long lasting effect on his mental, physical, and emotional health, including memory loss, anxiety, executive functioning deficits, and other problems with his health in general. Devin had engaged in substance abuse due to all that he was facing. Devin made the choice to continue to fight all of these obstacles with the assistance of his family while staying healthy . Devin had been doing well, is in a relationship, and working a full time job. But On October 10, Devin had multiple severe seizures, which the doctors reported were due to the scar tissue from his previous brain injuries. Devin has lost 2 days of consciousness and has had difficulty with identifying others around him. These seizures have severely back tracked Devin from all the progress he has made, it is possible he won’t be back to the same level of success for awhile as he works to get better and get treatment and recover.

The donation you provide will help Devin make it through this next round of obstacles including paying for medical bills, medication, therapy, on going medical appointments, delay in gaining a job until he is able to find something that fits to his abilities,legal, specialist services, etc. Although these seizure flare ups can occur at anytime, we as a family are determined to help Devin as much as we possibly can. If you would be willing to help support us during this difficult time it would be greatly appreciated.

As a father it breaks my heart having to watch my son suffer like this when there is little you can do about it. Especially, when Devin is so kind, loving, and compassionate to those around him. He continues to stay positive, love life, and love those around him. Thank you for time, consideration, and generosity.
