Lonnie was a kind, gentle, humble man who dedicated his life to God and his family. He was married to his wife, Alice, for 57 years and was blessed to have two girls and three grand-daughters that he would sacrifice anything for. There is nothing he would not do for them. Even after retiring from CFISD as a head custodian in his 70's, he never stopped sacrificing for his family. He was a witty man and was famous for his one liners. There was no one better at a come back! He was an avid fan of his beloved Astros. Whenever a game was on, dad was officially off the clock! No one could interrupt the game.
A note from his daughter -
We prayed and prayed for God's will to be done and God answered us. Yesterday, September 27th, around 9:30p, my daddy took his last breath on this earth. He opened his eyes and he was with his Lord and Savior and all the loved ones that have gone before him. Our hearts are broken, but the peace of God has surrounded our hearts and our minds. My father fought until the very end and all he wanted to do was come home to his family, but God chose to take him and now he is at rest. He was an outstanding husband to my mom for 57 years. He raised two daughters and three grand daughters and there was nothing he wouldn't do or sacrifice for his family. His absence will be felt in an incredible way and we as a family will never be the same. We have a hope that we will see dad one day, but in the meantime we will cherish all the memories, hold them close to our hearts and long for the day that we will see him again. Daddy, we will forever love you. Thank you for being the best husband, dad and Popo. We will meet you at the eastern gate.
