Early morning , June 21st, Howard was on his way to work in Clearfield on his motorcycle. It was his only mode of transportation. He was in Dubois coming down Shaffer avenue coming to the stop light that was green when a lady riding in a pickup truck ran a red light coming down beaver drive and T-boned Howard sending him about 10 feet in the air. He was lifeflighted within a half hour of the accident to the Altoona trauma center . I received the phone call and my whole life flashed before my eyes. I knew he was stable but I knew I needed to get there . I don't remember the drive to Altoona but when I got there Howard's parents and I talked to the doctor , nurses and a pastor. We knew his leg was broke as well as his nose. After waiting in the waiting room for ten hours we finally got to go see him . He has multiple breaks in his leg and the surgeon can't do the surgery he is going to require because of swelling . Howard spent 5 days in the Altoona hospital where they kept him medicated on pain medicine . I traveled back and forth early morning and would stay until they would make me leave in the evening . Howard was discharged that following Monday where I brought him home and we are awaiting his surgery that isn't scheduled yet. Here's where the trouble comes in , we live in a second story apartment with about 20 steps to even enter our place . It is very small and Howard can't even get around inside in his wheelchair. He can't even properly fit in the bathroom to get cleaned up . He isn't allowed to put any pressure on his leg/foot at all and has to keep it elevated. When he even stands up for more then a few minutes the pain gets so unbearable for him with all the pressure going down into his leg.I found us a house that is two bedroom ( a room for my son too) , the bathroom is on the first floor and there is plenty of room to move around for him and he won't have to climb any steps because we would like to get a couch:sectional that has a bed so he can be set up downstairs . Our new house will be ready around august 1st. Howard isn't allowed to work and we have no clue when he will be allowed to return to work. Him not being able to work and provide for us is totally devastating for him .  We have drained our bank account with all the traveling I did going back and forth to Altoona and medical expenses from this accident so far. I just started back to work the same day that Howard got discharged from the hospital and I am working long days . I was off work due to my own medical issues and had emergency surgery about two months ago and am still healing from that. My new job is working with me having to request a lot of days off for his appointments and upcoming surgeries .  Neither  of us sleep because he has to be woke up every three hours for pain medicine along with the nightmares he is having. I'm  coming home to take care of Howard which is now a whole new lifestyle for us and also take care of my 12 year old son and we are both trying to make sure life is somewhat a normal routine for him . This accident has completely changed our lives and has put a lot of our upcoming plans on hold. I just want to have Howard in a home where he can continue to heal from this devasting accident . The pain he has to go thru constantly is one of the hardest things I have ever had to watch. Two weeks prior to this accident we just announced to everyone that we are engaged! We are supposed to be planning our wedding right now but with all the stress going on we have put that on hold for a little while until we get settled in our new home . We are both very thankful and we know how lucky we both are and realize the outcome of this could have been lot different and we are very optimistic everything will return to normal. We have a long road ahead of us And i know we can get thru anything and we will come out stronger then ever from all of this! If you could please help us get into our new home and get the things we need for our home we would very much be forever grateful and if not we just ask you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers ! Thank you all for everything you have done already!
