Rebuild Nepal - Jugal Primary School

Donation protected
Mission - build a primary school.
Where - Sindhupalchwok, Nepal.
Why - the school and village were destroyed in an earthquake.
When - April 2019.
Who - Me! With a group of friends and volunteers.
How - by raising funds and lending a hand.
Cost - C. £2625 (dependent on flights). I will pay for my flights and transfers but we need building supplies, specialist contractors and local experts. All the money raised goes into the local economy. ‘Rebuild Nepal’ has close links with the Tej Foundation and all of the money I raise goes into the project and the village. Any surplus money can go towards extra supplies or developing the community E.g. installing solar panels so the school can have electricity.

Last year, volunteers rebuilt a medical centre and provided sanitary products to all of the girls in the community so that they could always go to school.

So... Please help me raise funds so that I can go and help build a school for a community who have very little. Every £1 helps.

More detail
In 2015 an earthquake killed 9000 people and injured 22000 people. It also destroyed some of the most isolated communities on the planet. A vibrant primary school in Sindhupalchwok was completely destroyed. The children still attend the school and the locals have created a temporary shelter with no water or electricity (pictured above.) In total, 34000 classrooms were destroyed by the earthquake.

A team of British volunteers are travelling to the remote village in 2019 to rebuild the school which will include a safe teaching block with three classrooms and a toilet block. The school currently has 97 pupils on roll and 4 dedicated teachers and this 10 day trip will change all of their families lives for generations to come. ‍‍‍

Not only do we supply the man power to dig, carry, move and build but we each raise money to pay for the project cost. This includes building materials and specialist builders which also provides resources and funds for the local community. I’m paying for my own flights and travel (approximately £1000) to get to the village where we camp on site cooking and living alongside the local workforce.

I feel fortunate to work in a state of the art primary school shaping the future of children's lives through teaching. I live in an area with only good and outstanding schools for our children and they don’t have to worry about the roof falling in or not having clean water. The Jungal Primary School currently only has water from the river and no working electricity. I hope to make a real difference to the lives and wellbeing of those 97 children, giving them a safe place to learn and shaping the future of an entire community, forever.

Will you help me?

If I raise more than my target, all additional money will be used to improve the project directly impacting the school lives of each child.

I will be hosting a presentation evening after the trip to share my photos, stories and thanks with you all.

If you want to find out more or want to support the project in other ways, just get in touch. You can also transfer money to me directly and I'll put it in the project pot.

Thank you for your support.
