Shoshanah Johnson, a resident of Meridian, MS, was diagnosed with leukemia in September of 2022. After many months of chemotherapy, and numerous stays at University of Alabama at Birmingham, she is now

preparing for a bone marrow transplant.

Shoshanah is currently hospitalized and waiting to begin her transplant on May 25th. After the procedure, she will be in inpatient care for 3 weeks. Once released, she will be required to continue her stay in Birming-ham with 24 hour care for at least 30 days. During this time, a family member must reside with her.

With no family located in Birmingham, she will have to spend this time at a local hotel. Her mother, Alesia Baylor will be taking a leave of absence from work to stay with her. During this stay, they will be required to pay all hotel fees, as well as food and any other personal items they may need.

Shoshanah is the proud mother of two precious boys, Javion and Pierre. She has fought this battle thus far

totally depending on the grace and mercy of her Lord and Savior. Throughout this journey, she has continued to work (when she wasn’t hospitalized) and take care of her children all while receiving chemo treatments.
