AFCOOP Moving Fundraiser

The Atlantic Filmmakers Cooperative (AFCOOP) is a non-profit, community organization dedicated to supporting the production and presentation of independent film and moving image-based work in a collaborative, learning environment. AFCOOP has been serving the filmmaking community in Halifax for over 45 years.
The Regal building on Cornwallis Street in Halifax, NS where AFCOOP's offices are located, was damaged during Hurricane Dorian and we have recently been informed by our landlord that they are terminating our lease in order to complete building repairs. We are being asked to leave our space by the end of October 2019.
This is obviously very sudden and unfortunate news.
Given the timeline and scope of the work, we are calling on our members and the community to assist us in this move!
We're aiming to raise $5,000 to help with the costs of move including paying a professional moving company transport all of our office furniture and supplies as well as all of our sensitive and valuable editing and production equipment. Any additional funds raised will go towards other costs related to the move including purchasing shelving or other furniture needed for the new space and to off-set the loss of rental revenue when we are closed during the move.
