Mental Health Journey

Hi, my name is Caylin and I’ve started this page to help my partner, David, with his mental health struggle. The system here in America gives us very few options for people battling with mental health. David is the sweetest, calmest, kindest man you could imagine. In every situation he is giving and helping others. It’s only right that during this time when the system wouldn’t help him, that I can find a way to do so. As of this week he is dealing with legal problems due to his actions while under a psychotic episode. On March 13th his doctors decided that he was fine and all his mental problems had disappeared. They stopped seeing him. On April 4th he was triggered and went back into a psychosis. I called his doctor begging for her to see him, took him to the emergency begging for them to help him, but no one would. Unless you are on the verge of hurting yourself or someone else, the doctors & cops won’t help. Why must it get that far? That same night after dragging him around all day pleading for someone to give him the mental help he needed, he got in trouble with law enforcement for acting out while completely out of his mind. Why would no one help him earlier that day when there were obvious signs he was unwell? When you are seriously mentally ill, you can do things that are not even like you. It’s not you in control of your brain, it’s the mental illness. I am trying to raise these funds to get him the help he needs with doctors & lawyers. God knows he’d do the same for anyone. We appreciate any help at all to fight this case and get him back to his wonderful, loving self.
