Myself and My Situation
My name is Sam and I am currently entering my Junior year at School of Visual Arts.  I am twenty four years old and a legally independent student due to the death of both my parents before the age of 25, which is both horrible and sort of good.   Good because I am granted the max amount of financial aid, excluding scholarships, and have knocked down my 20k/Semester tuition to 6k/semester.    Bad because I have no financial support other than my own income, which is not enough to apply for private loans. My immediate family is unable to help, as they all have their own financial struggles and/or would not qualify as a cosigner.

Update 9/1:

Because I have not been able to pay the entire balance, my first fall payment has been rolled into the balance I already owe.  I have also received an official warning from SVA's registar's office, informing me that  my academic progress may face consequences if I do not pay this balance.  

I have managed to scrape by up until this point but I finished my Sophomore year with an outstanding balance of $2,400.  I have no way to pay this off before my Fall Semester and currently have a financial hold on my account.  Failing to pay this balance by the fall semester will prevent me from enrolling in my classes and effectively force me to drop out.  I've taken on extra work, tried to advertise illustration commissions but nothing has come close to making a dent in this outstanding balance.



How The Funds Will be Used
Simple: The entirety of the donations will go towards paying my outstanding balance of $2900.

Please DM me with a screen shot of your donation (even if it's anonymous) to collect your award.  I have almost no hard limits on what I am comfortable drawing so don't worry about that.  If you would not like your award shared on my art accounts, please tell me explicitly so.  

Once my tuition is payed off I will make a public announcement including screenshots of the confirmation of my payment.  If enough folks consent, I think it would also be nice if I created a zine featuring the awards of those who agree to having it shared.  Let me know if you'd be interested in that!
