Funeral Expenses for my Father
Donation protected
Hello, I am here as a daughter trying to fulfill her fathers final wishes for his burial. My father Thomas Guarino lost his battle with ALS ( Lou Gehrig's Disease) this morning 8/14/2023.
My dad was diagnosed over two years ago and fought every single day of his diagnosis. He worked every day since he was 14 years old. He was a husband, father to three children and grandfather to 2 little ones. We were the reason he woke up for work at the crack of dawn every day and decorated our house for days for holidays just to see us smile. Our dad was the first person you could call for a helping hand. If you had car trouble, he was your man! He opened his home to those who needed a hand and offered jobs to those who needed to get back on their feet.
On the outside, he looked serious and tough, but on the inside, he had the biggest heart.
Unfortunately, when he was diagnosed with ALS he lost his long-term job that provided health and life insurance. Without income, we had to get help from the state and ALS Foundation for his care. Despite his constant pain and discomfort, Thomas tried working anywhere he could for money to provide for his family and his care. Alas, this left no funds left to put aside for his plans after he passed.
We had hoped as all do for more time. We hoped to have more funds stored away for when this time eventually came. Unfortunately, we are all struggling in these times and we are asking for any help that can be provided.
Thomas wished to be cremated and placed in a spot his family could visit for years to come. He also wished for some of his ashes to be made into pieces his wife and children could have so he was always with them. Just as he was in life.
Thomas was the type of man to offer help often and rarely ask for help in return. This trait passed on to his children but we are asking for help now. We want to give such an amazing husband, father, grandfather and friend a funeral he deserved.
My siblings and I are pulling together for his cremation services. our funds sadly only pay for the act of cremation.
Any help you can provide is a blessing and will be used for:

Thank you for any help you can provide and for reading about my wonderful father, Thomas Guarino.
Sincerely,
His loving family
