On Saturday 28th of September my family and I endured the hardest day of our lives. My world fell to pieces and time stood still when I got the call that my beautiful soft-hearted Dad passed on from this world. My brothers and I have lost our mentor and protector as well as our sci-fi, cooking and roller coaster partner and our lives will never be the same without him.
For those of you who knew my Dad, you'd know that he was a very hard-working man and rarely had a day off. Despite this, he and my Mum were incredibly generous and their door was always open to anyone that needed help. His hard work provided me and my two brothers such an amazing childhood, but it took it's toll on his body and over the last two years he had become bed-ridden and unable to work.
My brothers and I are heart broken at the sudden and tragic loss of our father, but our Mum has lost her best friend, her husband and closest companion for over 30 years. She has also lost his financial support, which was already strained over the last two years. Anyone that has met my Mum knows that she has always been a giver and would never ask for help, but now she needs it more than ever.
The funeral costs and other expenses have already started rolling in, and my brothers and I are helping the best we can. Unfortunately, we can't hope to cover the expenses to lay our poor dad to rest, while also trying to deal with the heartache this has caused us all.
If you have a spare dollar to help my poor mum with the funeral and the transition expenses she has to endure, my brothers and I would be forever grateful to you. My mum is so special and anyone that knows her understands what a shining bright light she is.
This isn’t Goodbye Dad, I can feel your presence as I write this. I know whenever I look at the stars, as we used to so many times before, that you will be looking down upon me, protecting me forever.
