Support for Jerry's Family in Their Time of Loss

Yesterday, the Dalton Highway lost one of its own.

Jerry, a dedicated truck driver, trainer, and owner-operator with Alaska West Express, passed away doing what he’s done for decades—running the road he knew so well. Born on January 18, 1963, in Idaho, Jerry made his way to Alaska in the 1980s and built a life defined by hard work, grit, and loyalty to those around him.

If you knew Jerry, you knew he wasn’t just a driver—he was the kind of man who showed up. A mentor to many, a friend to everyone, and someone you could count on when things got tough. In an industry where conditions can turn dangerous in an instant, especially on the Dalton Highway, Jerry was the kind of person who had your back.

He leaves behind his wife, Nina, his beloved dog Jackson, and a family that includes his children and stepchildren who meant the world to him.

We are raising funds to help Nina and the family with funeral arrangements during this incredibly difficult time. Jerry’s family will also be traveling from Idaho to Alaska, and any additional funds will go toward helping bring them here so they can honor him and say their goodbyes.

This loss is being felt across the trucking community and beyond. If you’re able to give, thank you. If not, please keep Jerry’s family in your thoughts and prayers and consider sharing this.

Let’s come together for one of our own—just like Jerry always did.
