We want to start by saying Thank You for taking the time to visit this site. Please help us help a special young man, from Richmond Virginia, recover from being an innocent victim of senseless violence. A parent, a child, any person’s worse nightmare came true for young Jerome Johnson, an 11-year-oldboy on September 21, 2020. That day has changed Jerome’s life forever.
Jerome, who is a larger 11-year-old than most, is a very talented, standout type of athlete. Jerome is believed to have been mistaken for someone else and while standing on the sidewalk with a hoodie on this 11-year-old, a 6th grade child, was approached from behind and shot in the back multiple times by an unidentified suspect.
Jerome has been through multiple surgeries in a matter of a few days, with more to come. This child’s bright smile and big dreams of playing professional football one day, has been substituted with the simple things we all take for granted, and replaced with a goal of walking again.
His medical bills are already extensive, his surgeries so far and hospital care are in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and raising. On top of dealing with this devastating situation, and praying for healing and positivity throughout all of this, Jerome’s family has been told they need to start planning to relocate to a house that will be suitable for his care and is functional for his rehabilitation process. Jerome will need to move to a location with a bedroom on the first floor and one that is equipped with the new medical devices that will be needed to help him with rehabilitation and his new way of living. He will need constant around the clock care from his guardian, who now faces not being able to work her job anymore to care for Jerome’s extensive injuries.
Your gift will assist with rehabilitation to assist this young man with the first step of trying to walk again. It will also assist with helping his family find a home that can accommodate his serious injuries and long road to recovery.
