5th Heart Transplant Anniversary!
❤️❣️ This year, 2023, marks my 21st birthday, but it also marks my 5th heart transplant anniversary! In July 2016, when i was just 14, i was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy, heart failure. After being in hospital for 3 months, I went back to living my normal life but when I was 16, my health deteriorated further and I was admitted to Harefield Hospital and was there for 6 months. On the 11th July 2018, i underwent a heart transplant that saved my life. I would not be here today if it wasn’t for this organ donation. This heart has given me the chance to live and have a future. I can now say i’ve made it to 21, something i didn’t know i would be able to say 5 years ago. I am so so grateful for this, it’s been a fucking hard journey but i aim to keep on pushing. To commemorate, in July this year, i will be walking part of the Camino de Santiago way from northern Portugal into northern Spain whilst raising money for Harefield Hospital, where I had my transplant. I genuinely want to say thankyou to everyone who has been there for me; the doctors, nurses and all my friends and family because i wouldn’t have made it this far without you. If you would like to donate any money, no matter how small to my GoFundMe page, over the next month or so, I would be so grateful. It is to raise money for those who may find themselves in a similar near death situation to me, and the link is in my bio. All the love and thankyou❤️❣️
