FPG Bilingüe is a Dual Language Magnet School in Chapel Hill, NC.  Students are instructed in Spanish and English with our mission being to ensure that all our students are bilingual, biliterate and develop cultural awareness.  As part of the 5th grade North Carolina Standard Course of Study, students have learned about the history, government, and economics of the United States.  On our 2-day, 1-night trip to Washington, DC, students will build connections between the past, present, and future as they reinforce prior learning about the United States government and explore the sights that represent the people, ideas, and events that have shaped the United States.  We will visit the Arlington National Cemetery, United States Capitol, the African American History, and other historical sites.
 
As a Dual Language Magnet School serving a diverse demographic, over 40% of our students qualify for Free/Reduced lunch.  In order to provide the opportunity for all of our 5th graders to attend this once in a lifetime experience, we are seeking donations.  Each student needs $230 to attend the trip.  Many students have been able to pay a portion of the expense, but are seeking some additional funds to complete their payment.
