5th Grade Fund for 2023-24
Donation protected
Hi Everyone :)
My name is Pauly Nguyen, or as I MAKE my students call me, Mr. Nguyen. Some have the audacity to call me by my first name already, but then they instantly regret it.
I am fundraising for my 5th graders in our STEM class this year at Rocketship Discovery Prep in San Jose, CA. I am reaching out to my friends and family who have graciously been a blessing and a joy in my life so many times now and in the past. But now, I ask you humbly to graciously bless the students under my care this year.
Altogether, we are fundraising for:
-Classroom decorations/student supplies
-Science Camp
-2 Field Trips
-student swag!
-opportunities to build positive relationships
-learning opportunities
-and even service learning projects where my students can be a blessing to others as well.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!! If you are still reading this, please continue!
These students mean a lot to me as they were the same students I had in my first year of teaching, which then led to the pandemic. Honestly, if I can be bold enough to say this, I think these kids were hit the hardest out of all the grades at my school during the pandemic; socially, academically, and emotionally.
Let me tell you....these kids WILL eat teachers and principals alive!!! They are not angels. They cuss. They draw penises in the restrooms. They start drama. They run out of class/elope. They square up and start boxing in front of parents and record themselves.
Yet......I love these kids. Graciously, this upcoming school year, this will be my third year teaching this group of students; My first year with them as 1st graders in my first year of teaching leading up to the pandemic; last year, teaching them as fourth graders; and this year, their final year as elementary school students.
I can take the easy route and teach 1st grade, which I am more comfortable with and have a chill year. But for some of you who know me before as Pastor Pauly or Thầy Pauly, I know loving kids is hard and it takes time, patience, and a lot of effort. All these, I am blessed and gifted to have, yet, I ask that you help me love these kids with your monetary support as well.
Our classroom theme this year is the GTR/Godzilla. If you have been in my class before, the theme was JDM Toyotas 2 years ago and last year it was the LS400. I wanted a theme that will best define who these students will strive to be throughout this school year and further into life. And also.....my classrooms have been amazing and the kids get so invested in the theme that they start being bummed when we give away decorations at the end of the school year and don't get what they want. I definitely will post pictures of my class as well. Heck, come visit!
And finally, to be transparent with funds, I will be sending monthly spending/donation reports along with how the funds are being used. This is not solely for me to earn your trust and support, but so that you can see how your gifts are impacting these students
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you so much!
