Encourage and Support Ulloa Elementary Graduates!

In January 2021, a few parents at Ulloa Elementary—a Title 1 school in San Francisco—organized to purchase customized class of 2021 sweatshirts for graduating 5th grade students. Several upset students shared that they wish to buy one, but that the cost would be a financial burden to their family.
We believe that no student should feel embarrassed or left out of their graduating class sweatshirt—with their names on the back—because of their family’s circumstances. These sweatshirts would be the ultimate graduation gift to the students. As they have not been to physical school or seen their friends in person since the third trimester of fourth grade, these gifts will help to celebrate a sense of community and pride for the graduating class.
Our 5th grade team of teachers (Anni, Jonathan, Karen, Kristy, and Natalie) are raising funds to purchase sweatshirts for 88 graduating 5th graders. The cost of each sweatshirt is $35 (not including shipping and handling). We want all of our students to feel included without it being a financial challenge. We are determined to help every single student succeed in their last year of elementary school and a little boost of morale goes a long way.
