In Loving Memory of Steve Wilson

It is with heavy hearts we share the news that Steve Wilson, our dear colleague and cherished member of the i3 leadership team, passed away on 2/13/2024. In honor of his memory and in support of his family during this difficult time, we’ve set up this page for donations.

Everyone who knew Steve was greeted as a friend. His outgoing personality could light up any room, and he had a talent for forming connections with everyone he met. Steve’s unwavering commitment to his team and fellow human beings was always evident and truly distinguished him. His infectious charisma and larger-than-life personality resulted in a unique ability to forge connections and transcend boundaries, leaving a permanent impact on everyone he encountered. Engaging in conversation with Steve always left one energized and inspired. Steve’s charitable heart and passion for helping others in our community found an outlet in i3Cares. Leading as always, Steve brought his time, his treasure, and his talents to bear at i3Cares events throughout the year, impacting children, veterans, and many others who needed a helping hand.

Steve's career-long dedication and service to our nation never waned and is undeniably commendable. Steve, alongside his wife Lenore, made the transition to join i3 from Stuttgart, Germany, where he served as a business relationship manager overseeing operations across 53 African nations. Throughout his illustrious career, Steve garnered a plethora of honors and accolades, including the Black Engineer of the Year Award (GDIT), the Commander’s Award (US Army Corps of Engineers), the Afghanistan Campaign Medal with Campaign Star (US Army), the Bronze Star Medal (US Army Corps of Engineers), the Combat Action Badge (US Army Corps of Engineers), the National Defense Service Medal (US Army), the Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star (US Army), and the Meritorious Service Medal (349th Quartermaster Company), among numerous others.

Steve's legacy at i3 will extend far beyond his professional accomplishments. As a master motivator, problem solver, and caring mentor, Steve proudly wore the mantle of a servant leader and epitomized the core values of an i3 team member. His profound kindness and compassion, extended to all, set the standard to which we should all aspire. He leaves behind a leadership void not easily filled, yet his spirit will continue to inspire us in our endeavors.

Any donations are greatly appreciated, and 100% of donations will help pay for family expenses.
