Christy's Road to Recovery Needs You

This GoFundMe is to support Christy Adams with medical expenses, treatment, meals, and recovery.

Anyone that knows my momma or has crossed paths with her knows that what brings her the most joy is putting a smile on someone else's face.

She would give her last $10 to someone if she knew that $10 could help someone else out because that is what brings my mom the most joy: making others smile.

She has raised me solely by herself, being mother, father, friend, confidant, and everything else for 23 years, always putting my needs above her own to give me a good life and to give me things that she may not have had.

Now she needs our help.

On March 14, 2025, her workday was a normal day being remote, and within a few hours, she suffered a seizure and the complete loss of the left side of her body and speech within 3 minutes. She was transported to Houston Clearlake Hospital, given immediate meds to avoid a seizure and control severe swelling and inflammation in her brain. She has been diagnosed with two glioma level 4 most aggressive fast-growing brain tumors on the right side of her brain and a nodule on her left lung.

A move back home to SW Florida was already in the works, and with doctors' approvals, she is home now in Naples, Florida. An amazing neuro team was already in process with the support of her Texas doctors.

On Thursday, April 24, 2025, she will have brain surgery in Miami to remove the two glioma tumors by a glioma tumor expert with the support of a whole neuro team for the 2.5-hour surgery. Although we do not know if the tumors are cancerous until the tumors are removed safely and cut and tested, her neurosurgeon and team already have three oncologists that she will be required to seek treatment through between Miami and Naples in each city. Radiation and brain therapy are all required no matter what following the tumors' safe removal, adding a chemo oncologist if determined cancerous.

She is on a minimum six-month no-driving restriction, has many restrictions on cooking, and is on bed rest until she is through surgery. She will remain on bed rest for 4-6 weeks minimum.

Currently, my Grandma Rose is her primary caregiver, taking her to all of her appointments if not going to Miami via Uber, running all of her errands, and managing all of her day-to-day needs in her home.
